Successful first year of operation for Convertus

Convertus celebrated its first year, following the merger of Renewi Canada (formerly Orgaworld) and Waste Treatment Technologies (WTT). In its first year of operation, Convertus made strong progress with post-merger integration, operational delivery and rebranding, re-establishing ourselves as a powerful brand leader in the industry.

In honour of this milestone, Convertus launched a new set of values and associated behaviors representative of the group and which support the delivery of our purpose and strategy.

Beyond this, Convertus achieved the following:

  • Processed 26,000 truck loads of waste
  • Produced enough compost to fill 32 Olympic swimming pools
  • Generated enough energy to power nearly 1,600 homes in Canada.

Michael Leopold, CEO at Convertus said:

“Together we’ve created one of the world’s leading organic waste management companies. We are proud of what we achieved in the last year, and this is just the beginning for our business. We have a strong international team and we are encouraged by our prospects and opportunities that lie ahead.”
